There is no charge for the use of Forker Building spaces for ISU faculty, staff, or students for most activities. However, groups who do not clean up completely after their activity will be charged a $90 clean-up fee. All spaces must be returned to their original condition and free of all trash. Trash cans must be emptied and all furniture and equipment returned to their location at the conclusion of the activity.
If large groups of people will be using the facilities for extended periods of time or any time food is being sold or served, a mandatory $90 clean-up fee will be charged. The fee will cover hallway and room cleaning, cleaning and restocking of bathrooms, and activities associated with getting the facility ready for the next weekend activity or class day. Groups are expected to assist with clean-up by dumping garbage cans during the day as needed and putting away all equipment.
All groups using Forker and serving or selling food MUST indicate this on the reservation request form. Permission to serve or sell food requires additional permission (Event Approval Form) from the Event Management Office in the Memorial Union and Risk Management. Either may contact your group for additional information prior to approving the request.. Failure to obtain permission from either group will void the facility reservation.
Boards used for martial arts activities. other building materials, paint or chemicals may not be thrown into the dumpster. Please consult with the Forker Building Coordinator for proper disposal of these materials. (515-294-8718)
All individuals or groups using the pool will be charged a fee for a lifeguard using an hourly rate of $10 per hour. The Department of Kinesiology will hire and schedule the lifeguards for your activity. The pool will not be available to any groups not adhering to this policy. A minimum 14 day notice must be given for pool reservations
Forker facilities are available for use during the normal scheduled hours of Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm and from 5 pm - 10 pm weekdays during normal academic semesters. Other times must be prearranged and require 14 days advance notice.
No gum, food or drink is allowed in any gyms, dance studios, or classrooms during events.
Groups serving food or beverages must provide their own equipment (coffee pots, coolers, etc.) and supplies (napkins, cups, etc.). Please avoid using red/purple beverages due to the problems with staining floors and carpets. Groups will be charged for damage caused by spills.
Groups serving food or beverages must allow time for the ISU Event and Risk Management Offices to approve the food and beverage distribution plans. If food or beverage usage is indicated on your reservation request form, your form will be routed to the Event Management and Risk Management Offices for approval.
All decorations to be used in Forker Building spaces must be approved by Forker Building staff.
Smoking is prohibited in all Forker spaces and within 25 feet or any building entrance. Alcoholic beverages may not be sold or consumed in any Forker Building spaces.
Priority use of Forker Building spaces is as indicated below.
1. Academic classes and backup spaces for academic classes
2. Department of Kinesiology clubs, groups, and classes
3. Athletic department activities
4. Campus groups and organizations
5. Groups without university affiliation
Large special events, such as Iowa Games, Iowa Special Olympics, and others will take precedence over most other activities.
The Department of Kinesiology reserves the right to cancel or relocate a scheduled activity with 48 hours notice if unforseen circumstances warrant.

Forker staff will not be responsible for any set up or take down activities. All groups will be provided access to tables, chairs, and equipment needed for an event, however groups must do the work themselves. Please request time in your reservation for set up and take down activities.
The true cost of repair or replacement of damaged facility spaces or equipment plus a 3% administrative fee will be billed to users.
