Master of Science in Kinesiology
The Department of Kinesiology offers a Master
of Science degree in Kinesiology with a specialization
in either the Behavioral Basis of Physical Activity or the Biological Basis of
Physical Activity. A student, in conjunction
with the major professor and program of study committee, plans
a program which relates to the student's career or future academic
goals.
The Behavioral Basis of Physical Activity concentration can provide
a sound theoretical background in the areas of exercise psychology,
sport sociology, motor learning and control, and physical education teacher preparation. The Biological Basis of Physical Activity concentration focuses
on exercise physiology, biomechanics and/or motor control. In both specializations the student is also able to explore and strengthen areas most related to his/her
career or future academic goals.
